The Tale Of Jack McCall
By -Fish
Out of the night roared a fearsome sight
On a hog of primer and rust
He smacked into a car in front of a bar
Fell off and rolled in the dust
He was dirty and fat, wore a rag for a hat
And his name was Jack McCall
When sober he stood about six foot six
When drunk, didn't stand at all
He picked up his scoot with the toe of his boot
And gently parked it again
Then he looked at the bar, called the "Silver Star"
And gracefully stumbled in
The bar smelled ripe and was just the type
Your mama warned you about
With a sawdust floor and an aging whore
Who beckoned to Jack with a pout
She said, "Howdy Jack. I see yor back
You ain't been around for a year"
Jack shook his head and then he said:
"I'll tell you my tale for a beer"
So she bought him a brew and a cigar too
And Jack collapsed on a stool
"I'll tell how I, came to damn near die
And how I got played for a fool"
"It was over the hill in Pattersonville
At a thing called the Rendezvous
They got titties and beer" he said with a leer
"So I took myself down for a view"
"The place was real green, like a country
scene
Like that Norman Rockwell would do
I got stuck at the gate for an 8 hour wait
Then I finally rode into the 'Vous"
"I was doin' just fine then I saw the sign
To a place called: No Man's Land
I pulled right in, and that's how it begin
And I nearly made my last stand"
"I parked my old Pan by a big trash can
'Cause I don't like to walk too far
Then I pitched my tent and then I went
To find myself a bar"
"Came a voice from behind: 'can you be so
kind
As to move this pile of shit?'
Now my bike ain't fine but it's all mine
And that hurt my feelings a bit"
"When I turned around, it was there I
found
The most beautiful gal I'd seen
She wore leather and lace with an angel's face
And she said: 'Let me explain what I mean'
"See, she was in need of some booze and
some weed
And her old man had just run off
Could I ride her on down to a house in town
We'd get high and then we'd get off"
"With a 'Hell Yeah' get on, we roared off
towards the town
And she hugged me and held on real near
When we got the shack, she didn't look back
She ran into the house like a deer"
"I walked into a room, then the crack of
doom
Opened up and the lights went out
When I finally came to, and the world came in view
I'd been taken real good there's no doubt"
"She'd taken my cash and my last little
stash
She took everything else I possessed
My bike had been stripped, my jacket was ripped
And she was long gone, I guessed"
"So it took me a year, to get over my fear
Of women and what they might do
It might cost you much, so look but don't touch
The girls of the Rendezvous"
Jack stubbed out his cigar on the side of the
bar
And patted the whore on her ass
He belched and he farted and got his bike started
Then he gave it the gas.
He rode under the stars, narrowly missing
parked cars
Make sure he don't run into you
And we'll all meet again in the holding pen
